Our client, a mission-driven organization in the nonprofit sector, is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Accounting Specialist to join their team. Key Responsibilities: + Manage day-to-day processing of invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. + Assist in maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. + Support tracking and reporting related to grants and restricted funds to ensure compliance with donor and regulatory requirements. + Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial reports, including audit preparation and tax filings (e.g., Form 990). + Work with management to monitor budgets and variances, providing insights that aid in decisions for resource allocation. + Uphold regulatory compliance requirements and ensure strong internal controls within the organization. Requirements + Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the nonprofit sector. + Knowledge of accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Sage, or FundEZ for nonprofits) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. + Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive mindset. + CPA or familiarity with nonprofit accounting standards (such as GAAP for nonprofits) preferred but not required.
