Aspen Personnel Service, Inc. has been retained by a well-respected Auto & Diesel Repair Company to help them find a top-notch leader to join their team as their Shop Manager .
Self-motivated leadership style
Mechanical aptitude, especially diagnostic skills
Strong decision-making ability
Clear and professional communication skills
Enforce workplace safety standards, including proper use of PPE and handling of hazardous materials
Ensure OSHA compliance, including injury reporting and maintaining a safe environment
Provide equipment safety training and monitor tool maintenance
Prioritize jobs effectively (breakdowns vs. routine maintenance)
Use lean practices to streamline workflow and reduce waste
Assign work based on technician strengths and workload balancing
Oversee inspections to ensure repairs meet industry and shop standards
Establish clear workmanship expectations
Troubleshoot unresolved issues as needed
Monitor labor hours and productivity to control costs
Minimize material waste and promote efficient shop practices
Adapt leadership style to motivate individual team members
Resolve conflicts professionally and constructively
Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback
Handle customer communications and resolve complaints professionally
Follow up post-repair to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business
Schedule and ensure maintenance of shop equipment and vehicles
Promote best practices in repair procedures across both automotive and diesel systems
Manage technician schedules, covering peak hours and minimizing overtime
Provide accurate repair time estimates to help manage customer expectations
Handle urgent or emergency jobs efficiently
Safety & regulatory compliance
Shop efficiency & cost control
Team leadership & development
Quality assurance & customer satisfaction
Strong internal and external communication
Full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Some on-call and overtime hours as needed
$35 – $50+ per hour , depending on experience
