Job Description



AECOM is seeking an entry-level environmental permitting specialist to assist with the preparation of environmental permit applications and supporting technical documents, and data base management. This role is ideal for a candidate with a foundation in environmental permitting and knowledge of energy infrastructure and renewable resources. This position is envisioned as a remote position but can be offered as an office-based position.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS

:
  • BA/BS in environmental policy, environmental planning, natural resource science or related field + 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
  • Experience working with linear infrastructure or renewable energy (e.g., wind) permitting and supporting technical documentation.
  • Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state agencies' regulations (e.g., BOEM; NOAA, NMFS [especially Essential fish Habitat, and Sect 7 consultations]; USFWS; NYSDOS; NJDEP)
  • Experience with environmental permitting associated with linear transmission projects.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and software used for environmental data interpretation (e.g., GIS, data management platforms).
  • HAZWOPER (40-hour) certification or similar health and safety training a plus.
  • Research experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
