We are seeking an engineering manager with expertise in React Native and native mobile technologies to lead the development, deployment, and maintenance of our mobile applications. This role will supervise and provides technical direction to one or more implementation teams made up of software and test engineers. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

  • Leading the designing, building, and delivery of software features and bug fixes for the Relias’ platform. Owning the full development lifecycle, from design to deployment and ongoing maintenance 
  • Hiring and growing a team of software engineers in an Agile environment
  • Recommending strategies for complex technical problems
  • Developing domain and technology knowledge, including services, methodologies, strategies, standards, tools, and best practices for development processes. 
  • Acting as an agile delivery lead and actively participating in backlog management, sprint planning, feature refinement, and agile 

YOU'VE GOT WHAT IT TAKES IF YOU HAVE:

  • 7+ years experience in designing and building commercial software 
  • 3+ years managing, mentoring, and developing technical talent 
  • 3+ years of experience in mobile development with React Native and native mobile technologies 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering  
  • AZ900 and AZ204 Certification (If not already obtained - Relias would require gaining certifications within 90 days of hire)
  • Hands-on experience publishing and managing mobile applications on Google Play Store and Apple App Store 
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and web services 
  • Experience with Agile methodology and SDLC   
  • Hands-on experience with system design, service-oriented architecture, and microservices 
  • Strong understanding of the following technologies 
    • Object Oriented languages such as C# or Java 
    • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, and React/Angular 
    • SQL Server or other relational databases 
    • Public cloud-hosted solutions like Azure, AWS, GCP 
  • Experience leading engineering teams and delivering using an agile methodology 
  • Demonstrable competence in problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders 
  • Ability to mentor and grow a team of software engineers 
  • Proven experience with the full mobile development lifecycle, from development to deployment and ongoing support 

IT WOULD BE NICE IF YOU HAD:

  • Experience with .NET (C#), cloud architecture, specifically Azure services. 
  • Familiarity with other front-end frameworks like Angular for web development. 
  • Familiarity with SQL Server, Cosmos DB, or other databases 
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure 
  • Knowledge of cloud-based technologies such as Azure and AWS 
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, etc.
