Role Summary:

José Andrés Group (JAG) is seeking a dynamic, creative and results-driven Marketing Manager to drive brand awareness, customer loyalty, and business growth in our LA market. An integral member of the marketing team, this LA-based Marketing Manager will lead omni-channel marketing efforts for the José Andrés Group portfolio in Los Angeles, CA. 

This Marketing Manager will report to the VP of Marketing, and will be responsible for creating and executing JAG’s story-driven marketing strategy and tactics across JAG outlets located at The Shay, Culver City. 

Key Responsibilities:

Local community outreach and relationship management:

  • Spearhead local community outreach, developing relationships with key business leaders, organizations and brands to identify partnership opportunities and drive restaurant traffic.
  • Drive and expand relationships with influencers and locally influential stakeholders across industries key to the JAG audience growth strategy.

Digital: 

  • Manage social media, email, and web for LA restaurants, working closely with the Director of Brand & Content Strategy and Sr. Editorial Director to advance our content–first marketing approach.
  • Execute full-funnel content strategy to support key restaurant activations and stories across social media and digital channels.
  • Manage daily community engagement to maintain and grow a loyal audience.
  • Develop timely campaigns to create and maintain high levels of guest engagement and keep restaurants top-of-mind for community and media.
  • Track and measure performance across digital channels, adjusting tactics based on key metrics like engagement rate, open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
  • Maintain editorial calendar across all owned social media and digital channel, creating and deploying email campaigns and ensuring websites are up to date.
  • Manage professional photo/video shoots, and supplement by capturing/editing iPhone content.

Events and programming:

  • Concept and execute promotional events, ensuring timely communication via brand channels and in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Work cross-functionally on property to execute marketing events and activations.
  • Partner with respective teams to garner additional brand exposure through traditional media, influencer marketing, and brand partnerships

Public relations support:

  • Work closely with PR Agency to ensure objectives and strategies are clearly communicated and aligned, including supporting in identifying and hosting influencers, acting as onsite contact. 

Annual / quarterly planning and reporting: 

  • Maintain annual budget for each restaurant, tracking invoices and monthly accruals of costs against budget.
  • Manage ongoing reporting across digital and in-restaurant marketing efforts, optimizing strategy accordingly.
  • Analyze guest data to understand preferences and trends, and use these insights to refine marketing strategies and improve guest experiences.

Internal coordination:

  • Serve as the liaison between JAG Marketing and in-market Ops and Events teams at our LA restaurants.
  • Manage collateral and major menu updates with Ops team and Creative Lead.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 

  • Minimum 5 years experience in marketing and communications, ideally in the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to multitask and prioritize projects
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Active on social media and observant of industry trends – understand best practices and nuances between platforms, attuned to the latest content trends and emerging platforms
  • Experience managing social media and digital platforms for businesses/brands
  • Demonstrated strong brand copywriting skills 
  • Proficient in iPhone/photo and video content capture. Experience with more advanced photo and video capture and editing tools is a plus 
  • Strategic thinker and self-starter, who is naturally creative and readily offers fresh ideas 
  • Brings a test-and-learn mindset to content marketing and optimization 
  • Excellent organization, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Points

  • Experience executing paid social media campaigns across Instagram and Facebook
  • Experience with graphic design and more advanced video editing
  • Luxury Marketing, Restaurant, and/or Hospitality experience
  • Proficiency in Spanish language
