Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within our clinic. Amarillo Stat Care is a healthcare facility that provides both Primary and Urgent Care.

Responsibilities

• Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and reason for visit.
• Measure, record and document vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider.
• Perform EKGs as directed by the provider.
• Prepare and administer medications and immunizations
• Demonstrated ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures.
• Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a deadline-oriented manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application.
• Answer patient phone calls
• Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, medical and financial information per HIPAA.

Qualifications

• Current, nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification or eligible to obtain national Medical Assistant Certification within the first 90 days of employment.
• Current CPR and or BLS certification or the ability to attain the certification within 90 days of employment.
• Excellent patient service skills with a focus on compassionate care.
• Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining attention to detail in a busy environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
• A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and improving patient experiences.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 43 per week
