Lighthouse Lab Services is excited to represent a new laboratory in Houston, TX launching a revolutionary technology in the fertility space promising to help people everywhere realize their dream of becoming parents. We are looking for a Lab Manager to take over their day to day operation of their clinical laboratory.
The Lab Manager will be responsible for the operational, technical, and scientific oversight of the laboratory. As the laboratory is new, the position will initially involve rolling up your sleeves and working at the bench, assisting the R&D team with the CLIA certification process currently underway. Over the next year, the role will evolve to be mostly supervisory. This is a full time position in a fast paced environment with significant potential for growth and advancement. It is a unique opportunity to get in at the ground floor of a game changing startup and help shape the culture of its new laboratory.
What we are Offering
Position Overview:
Perform or supervise all testing, corrective actions, and process improvement.
Perform or delegate instrument validation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Assist with SOP drafting, maintenance and implementation.
Maintain QA/QC records and programs.
Manage laboratory and processes to ensure day-to-day operations follow internal SOPs and regulatory standards of CLIA. Maintain strict CLIA compliance.
Manage laboratory personnel by providing training, guidance, direction, and oversight. Assist with hiring.
Collaborate across the company to resolve issues and maintain ongoing functionality and a top tier customer experience.
Candidate Profile:
B.S. or higher in Biology, Biotechnology, or related field
4+ years experience in a High-Complexity Clinical Lab at a Biotech Startup
Experience with complex cell culture
Substantial expertise dealing with and analyzing living cells
Expertise in nucleic acid biochemistry
Experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, electrophoresis, RNA extraction, etc.)
Prior Supervisory experience strongly preferred
Experience in a start up environment strongly preferred
MB(ASCP) is preferred but not required
