Position Overview

The Educational Videographer will take the lead role in producing high-quality visual content for the Global Retail Command Center (RCC). This position involves capturing and creating photographic and videographic content for various projects, including product documentation, training materials, interviews, program milestones, site events, and storytelling initiatives. The videographer will be responsible for filming, editing, and producing instructional videos, online courses, and presentations that enhance learning experiences and engage the target audience. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in videography, post-production, and storytelling techniques, with experience in educational or training environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Comprehend a variety of processes, methodologies, personnel, equipment and related requirements involved in planning and carrying out the steps necessary to produce audiovisual, multimedia and still photographic productions in support of various Ralph Lauren RCC objectives.
  • Scripting and Storyboarding: Develop scripts or storyboards that outline the sequence of shots, scenes, and actions. Plan camera angles, transitions, and other visual elements.
  • Must have a detailed working knowledge of non-linear video editing equipment and working within a file-based video environment.
  • Camera Operation: Operate cameras and other video recording equipment to capture high-quality footage. Choose appropriate lenses, frame shots, and ensure proper lighting conditions for optimal image quality.
  • Required to have a general knowledge of camera (DSLR & mobile phone) usage and applications, location lighting, and related audio equipment.
  • Applicant will be required to stay abreast of emerging trends with video/photo equipment, editing software and hardware, including lighting and grip equipment.
  • Audio Capture: Record high-quality audio using microphones or other audio recording equipment. Ensure clear and synchronized audio to complement the visual content.
  • Direction and Guidance: Direct talent, if applicable, providing guidance on movements, expressions, and actions to achieve the desired visual narrative.
  • Video Editing: Edit raw footage using video editing software to create a cohesive and visually appealing final product. Arrange clips, add transitions, incorporate special effects, and synchronize audio for a polished result.
  • Color Correction and Grading: Enhance or modify the colors in post-production to achieve a consistent and visually appealing look. Adjust brightness, contrast, and color saturation as needed.
  • Graphics and Effects: Incorporate graphics, animations, or visual effects to enhance the overall quality and storytelling impact of the video.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Communicate effectively with Management to understand their expectations, provide updates on progress, and incorporate feedback throughout the production process. Work closely with other members of the production team, and other team members, to ensure a seamless and cohesive production.
  • Adherence to Deadlines and Budgets: Manage time effectively to meet project deadlines. Stay within budget constraints and optimize resources for efficient video production.
  • Travel monthly to stores in Mebane or Charlotte, with occasional out-of-state or international travel as needed.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to collaborate with team members, senior management, and sales associates.
  • Set up and operate all necessary equipment on location to meet the technical and creative requirements of each shoot
  • Coordinate store associates and equipment to ensure smooth execution of still photography and video productions.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge and expertise in Film Production, Media Arts, Communications, or a related field 
  • 5 + years videographer, video content creation and editing experience
  • Certified Professional Videographer (CPV)
  • Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) in Premiere Pro
  • Final Cut Pro X certification, Color Correction with DaVinci Resolve or Digital Imaging Technician Certification
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem resolution skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Experience with e-learning platforms, instructional videos, or educational media is a plus.
  • Knowledge of animation, motion graphics, and accessibility standards is a plus.
