Position Overview
We’re hiring a knowledgeable and driven Welding Engineer to support automotive metal fabrication and welding operations. As a Welding Engineer , you’ll ensure all welding processes meet customer quality and performance requirements through technical analysis, process development, and hands-on plant-floor support.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize weld parameters , procedures, and documentation
Conduct weld inspections and analyze weld quality data
Support PPAP , customer audits, and internal quality reviews
Troubleshoot welding and robotic automation issues
Maintain weld documentation, including Paxit records
Participate in problem-solving, corrective actions, and continuous improvement
Assist in launching new programs and supporting existing production operations
Train production staff on weld quality requirements, best practices, and standards
Requirements & Qualifications
2-year Welding Technologist/Technician education required; higher education preferred
Strong understanding of welding metallurgy , GMAW , and resistance/projection welding
Knowledge of NDE fundamentals
Experience with industrial welding robots (troubleshooting & adjustments)
Basic understanding of GD&T and metrology
Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork abilities
Ability to work on a plant-floor , production-driven schedule
Flexibility to work overtime or alternate shifts when required
