What does a Table Games Dealer do?

As a new Part Time Table Games Dealer, you can expect to immerse yourself in an engaging and dynamic environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include hosting various table games, interacting with players, and ensuring adherence to safety and gaming rules. You will be trained to shuffle and deal cards, manage bets, and efficiently handle transactions while providing excellent customer service to enhance the gaming experience. Your schedule will primarily consist of swings and night shifts, accommodating the casino's bustling activity during peak hours. This means you'll work during lively evening hours, allowing you to connect with a diverse clientele and fully experience the excitement of the casino scene.

To thrive as a Part Time Table Games Dealer, you’ll need a unique blend of skills. Firstly, attention to detail is crucial, as you’ll be operating table games in alignment with the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe's Gaming procedures and internal controls. You should be comfortable with computing payable odds to accurately pay winning bets and collect losing ones. Strong communication skills are essential for promoting positive customer relations and announcing game outcomes clearly. Additionally, a solid understanding of the game rules and procedures will empower you to effectively deal cards, manage wagers, and handle disputes if they arise.

You'll need to demonstrate reliability as you verify chip balances and handle currency exchanges. Monitoring the gameplay while ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies is key, along with the ability to work well under pressure in a lively environment.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• Deals cards to players as appropriate according to established rules and regulations.
• Computes payable odds to pay winning bets; pays winning bets and collects losing bets.
• Ensures that wagers are placed before cards are dealt, roulette wheel is spun, or dice are tossed.
• Promotes and encourages positive customer relations.
• Announces winning number, color, or hand to players.
• Verifies beginning and ending chip money and money balances and confirms supporting documentation. Receives fills and distributes credits.
• Exchanges paper currency for playing chips.
• Recognizes internally issued promotional coupons and handles as appropriate.
• Monitors game and notify supervisor of any disputes problems or concerns with either a patron or the progress of a game.
